David was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Frank and Pauline Nowlin. He was raised in Sasakwa, Oklahoma, where he resides today with his wife, Donna, his children and grandchildren.

Well let me see..... I met David about twenty years ago.We were working at this concrete plant, him as a driver, me as a yard man. Somebody said "Hey you play music, there's a driver in the break room who plays the guitar and sings." So I was introduced to my new-old friend. He was sitting there playing and singing. I stood in the doorway thinking WOW this guy is great! I told him I was a songwriter and gave him a chorus that
I had been working on. He left to do a load and he'd come in and throw me a verse. He did this until the song was done and he said "It's now a duet." That song is called "Two of A Kind Broken Hearts" and the rest is CONCRETE history. That will always be a special song to us because you never forget your first. We have been on a roll ever since. I'll call him and plant the seed and he'll call back with the magic and vice versa. David will always be the "Okie Rebel". You hear people say he's is like a brother. Well David is more than a brother to me because you don't have to like your brother. |

David and Donna were both brought up in musical families, and still get together for family jam sessions. David learned to play the guitar, sing, and drive a truck from his father, Frank Nowlin, who use to be on a local T.V. show called "The Hudson Brothers Show." David started singing in his sister's, Sharlene Bible, band, which is called the "Heart Talk" band. He later formed his own band called "Unknown Legend", which included his wife Donna and his father-in-law, Chris Hartsfield.
